Receive Valuable Vouchers with the Sainsbury Credit Card

Sainsbury’s Supermarket Ltd is a well-known supermarket chain throughout the UK. Its parent company, J Sainsbury plc, also dabbles in the property and banking fields. In fact, in 1997, Sainsbury bank was introduced to the UK. This bank was the result of a joint venture between Sainsbury and the Bank of Scotland, which is now known as HBOS. As such, it only stands to reason that the company would also have its own credit card.

In keeping with its supermarket roots, the Sainsbury credit card comes in three different design choices for cardholder. They can choose from blueberries, raspberries, or oranges. The card is also limited to only adult residents of the UK. Therefore, all applicants must be at least 18 years old and must have a permanent address within the UK. In addition, all applicants must have a building society or bank account in order to be considered for the card.

The Sainsbury credit card is geared toward those with good credit. As such, any applicant that has been declined for credit from another institution within the last month is not eligible for the Sainsbury credit card. Applicants also may not have a history or bad credit, of county court judgements, bankruptcy, default, or arrears.

For those that do qualify, the Sainsbury credit card offers an attractive introductory offer of a 0% interest rate on the balance transfers for the first five months. In addition, unlike most credit cards, there are no balance transfer fees. The card also offers a 0% APR for the first five month of card ownership. Thereafter, the typical APR is a variable 13.9%.

Sainsbury credit card holders also enjoy a number of additional benefits. For example, those that shop at Sainsbury Supermarket will appreciate the money-saving vouchers they receive just for being a cardholder. There is also no annual fee associated with the card and all cardholders receive extra fraud protection.

The Sainsbury credit card also features a number of optional benefits that the cardholder may choose to take advantage of. For example, the cardholder may choose to purchase protection against theft or loss of the card. With the Card Care program, all of the cardholder’s credit cards can be protected from theft or loss. With PrivacyGuard, the cardholder receives expert advice to prevent becoming a victim of identity fraud. The service also provides credit report monitoring, credit alerts, and identity theft insurance protection of up to £10,000.

The cardholder may also purchase Creditcare payment protection. With this protection, the cardholder doesn’t have to worry about making card payments if he or she becomes injured or ill and is unable to work or if the cardholder loses his or her job. With this protection, the amount the cardholder owes will also be paid off if he or she dies or becomes permanently disabled.
