Fraudsters Target Nottingham

Britain has just released a new survey regarding the hot spots for burglary and other crimes.  Nottingham has been given the name as the riskiest city in the country for household theft.  Nottingham has seen a rise in burglary levels in the last year.  It is now at 63% above the national average.  The results were provided by the Endsleigh Insurance Services.  The survey has also shown that London is not far behind, with Bristol, Stockport, and Leeds also high on the list.

Guildford was name the safest town in Britain.  They have seen a rate of 82% below the national average.  Dundee, Norwich, Swindon, and Bath are also low on the list for places that are most safe.  The survey has looked at household theft over the last four years.  The Endsleigh Company looked over tens of thousands of their customers in the UK to determine the results.  They did exclude student policy holders from the surveys.  They ranked the towns and cities according to the frequency of claims they had to pay out.

Rhiannon Harris spoke out about the survey saying that they are seeing a gradual decrease in household theft.  Even the British Crime Survey has shown a reduction in theft across the UK in the last 13 years.  Domestic burglary fell by 59% from 1995 to 2007.  The police are of course getting their due regarding the lessening of burglaries occurring.  Most of the due is going to the policy, local councils, and community groups across the UK.  They have been set up to make sure that household security is being used and that it is offering the proper protection.

There is still going to be some greater risk in certain areas as the survey has shown.  It is best that the households across the country are made aware of where there is more protection needed, and that the protection continues to keep the burglary down to a minimum.

The survey was designed to help the consumer realise where there are more claims and to do something about it.  If you live in the towns or cities mentioned in Nottingham and other areas that have a high rate of burglary you may want to install home security or at least check to make sure it is working to the best that it can.
